Magical mixology tour

Magical mixology tour

If fluffy pink bunnies or greenhouse-raised red roses are not your style, what about a masterclass with the “heston” of the cocktail world?

The mixology maestro Tony Conigliaro is running the Beefeater 24 Molecular Masterclass at his latest N1 hide-out, The Drinks Factory, for one session only, on Saturday 18 February.

Tony is renowned for his inventiveness – think grass-scented cocktails and glowing martinis – and has long worked with Beefeater’s distilling guru, Desmond Payne.

Twinkly-eyed Desmond is as bright and enthusiastic as when he first began distilling some 40 years ago. He was travelling the world when he came upon the special ingredients that have become Beefeater 24’s calling cards – Chinese Green Tea and Japanese Sencha. You can expect something a little different with Tony’s Valentine’s Day recipes, as he sets out to accentuate and play with these delicate flavours.

Afterwards, repair to Tony’s award-winning bar 69 Colebrooke Row for further libations.

For those who fancy mixing up a bit of magic at home, don’t forget the friendly www.GinandTales.com site, with its easy to follow cocktail guides.

The Molecular Masterclass, The Drinks Factory, runs from 3-5pm.
Entrance is free, but there are only 15 spaces.
Reservations open on 10 February, so contact [email protected] to get your name on the list.
