Calling all ladies who love flavour, have you entered Jane Peyton’s competition for aspiring brewsters? There’s less than a week to go – closing date is end of January – so don’t miss your chance to win a day brewing with founder of Brewsters brewery, Sara Barton.
Even before she was front page news on the Huffington Post, Jane, founder of the School of Booze events company, reported there were “some really fab entries”. Her favourites so far have involved “adding Earl Grey tea; blood orange & cloves; and sloe & juniper. Very inventive!“
Jane – a lover of all things ale-like, but particularly those beers that are dark and delicious – has teamed up with Divine Chocolate to give her competition a theme. The challenge is to envisage a beer that will go well with one of their chocolates. You don’t need to brew it, simply create and share your recipe.
For those a little daunted by the prospect, Jane says don’t be. “My advice for people with the chocolate matching element is just to let their imagination run,” she says. “Think of the beer – and the chocolate – as a food recipe – what combination of flavours would rock your world?”
And on that note, I’ll leave you to dream up your own brew…
