Be part of history and help crowdfund the first brew from
Crafted & Distilled, the new set-up designed to bring to life beers with a sense of history. But don’t delay – pledge deadline is 27 July!
Appropriately enough, the beer, created by genial brewer and brewing historian Peter Haydon, commemorates the First World War centenary.
Called The Fairy Feller’s Master-Stroke, the beer is inspired by the Richard Dadd painting commissioned by Peter’s great grandfather and gifted to the Tate by war poet Siegfried Sassoon in memory of fallen comrades.
Due to be brewed on 28 July, the beer will be a 5.5% nut brown ale, with malty sweetness and brewed with chestnuts – the painting shows the feller aiming at a chestnut.
Watch Peter in this video to hear about his inspirations.
So, to help this come to pass, put your name down for a case (or two) here. Or if you want the ultimate treat, why not pledge for a couple of cases plus a beer and cheese pairing evening with Peter himself.
Cheers!
