Fancy finding out a little bit more about wine with some of the most charismatic writers, vintners and critics in the business? Well Wine Sessions is back.
The brainchild of a trio of foodie-winos – River Café sommelier, Emily O’Hare, Zeren Wilson and Sophie Dening – the trigger was the feeling that all the best talks were accompanied by something interesting in the glass.
Following a sell-out day last November, this Saturday offers another diverse collection of talks and tastes. There’s Guardian columnist Fiona Beckett kicking the day off, while critic and blogger extraordinaire Jamie Goode teams up with eclectic vintner Doug Wregg of Cave de Pyrene. The Telegraph’s Victoria Moore joins The Independent’s Anthony Rose and Richard Hemming of jancisrobinson.com to share what made them turn to wine in their writing careers.
Later, three of the smartest young wine talents in town, Mike Sager-Wilde (Sager & Wilde), Charlie Young (Vinoteca) and Courtney Stebbing (Lyle’s) resurrect unloved wine styles you’ll want to get to know again.
The decks start turning at 6pm and the talks close with a bit of extreme food and wine matching.
There’s a range of tasty eats, courtesy of the Quality Chop House deli.
