Anyone need a Piddle?

Piddle sponsors Swanage Comedy FestivalNot content with its entertaining moniker and amusingly named beers – a Jimmy Riddle or a pint of Piddle anyone? – Dorset’s own Piddle Brewery has decided to celebrate its third birthday by sponsoring the Swanage Comedy Festival for the next two years. Bob Mills is among those headlining the March festival in this, its second outing following a sell-out inaugural event in October 2010.

Three nights of events run from Thursday 24 to Saturday 26, including an Open Comedy night to find an act (or three) to join Saturday evening’s line-up. Dave Taylor, a former city-dweller who used to run Comedy Clubs in London, is delighted with the festival's success and the tie-up with Piddle Brewery, saying that it would allow “the event to expand,” with its ambitious plans.

Piddle Brewery, based in nearby Piddlehinton, was born when friends Rob Martin and Paul Goldsack got the taste for beer when Running Ye Olde George Inn in Christchurch. This is not the brewery's first entertaining collaboration. Back in 2009, Purbeck Ice Cream got in touch, and – yes, you guessed it – one of the sorbets on offer is now Piddle Sorbet.
