Distillers featured on DrinkBritain.com collected a total of 93 medals, the overwhelming majority, 89, being Gold or Silver, at the recent International Wines & Spirits Competition 2011.
Rather like today's rain, my past couple of weeks have been overflowing with British cider: cloudy, clear, Kentish and Cornish, I’ve tasted it all.
The combination of a cold winter followed by an exceptionally warm spring has caused a bumper crop of extra-large apples across the UK this year, leaving cider and apple juice makers busy collecting the fruits of their labour - a task that becomes especially tiresome when you consider the fact that different types of apple ripen at different times and the season has started a full three weeks earlier than usual this year. Help is needed!
This is an inspiring book. For all we hear about Grow your Own, this is the first book I’ve come across that makes Make your Own seem not just feasible but fun.Tags
