Seventy-eight breweries opened in Britain in the 12 months up to September 2010 according to CAMRA's Good Beer Guide 2011. Derbyshire lays claim to five, with two in Derby itself – Rowditch and Mr Grundys – taking its total to 31. Kent, regarded by many to be the home of hops, saw a similar increase, raising its brewery quota by 50% to 15.
