Glenmorangie Distillery Open Days

15 October 2011 - 16 October 2011

Glenmorangie have been busy upgrading and adding to the visitor centre, and next weekend they are throwing open their doors for a series of special tours to mark the official opening of the new facilities. Visitors can expect an out of the ordinary tour, with live demonstrations of all aspects of the whisky making process by distillery staff, and a special whisky tasting which includes the luscious Nectar d'Or.

Glenmorangie DistilleryChildren's activities including face painting (the Glenmorangie Giraffe, anyone?) and quizzes will add to the family friendly nature of your visit. For the older contingent, each day will feature a whisky masterclass with the distillery manager. Bagpipe music and a falconry display will add to the atmosphere, and the whisky tasting features accompanying canapés.

New features to look out for include a film telling the Glenmorangie story, the new tasting room with its slate-topped bar, and a revamped exhibition space. Look out too for the recently installed stained glass window by Scottish artist John Clarke, which you'll see in the still room.

Sat & Sun, 10am-4pm; more information at glenmorangie.com.
