Camel Valley Tour Tickets
Not so much a drink this one, but the final element in our Ultimate DrinkBritain Case: a chance to meet the UK Winemaker of the Year, Sam Lindo, on one of Camel Valley's popular afternoon tours. You'll have to make your way there under your own steam, but it is in a delightful spot, so well worth the visit anyway.
Sam is as modest as they come, so don't expect airs and graces. And if he's tied up on other business, you will be in the more than capable hands of either assistant winemaker, Sarah, or his dad, founder Bob Lindo.
After a wander through the vines, they will take you into the winery and explain a little more about the processes, before taking you to the charming Cellar Tasting Room, where you can choose a glass from their selection to finish off your tour on the terrace overlooking the vines.
My tip? Book ahead, and do think of trying their Bacchus as well as their sparklers. In fact, stock up while you're there, since limited supplies means you won't find their wines all over the country.
see Camel Valley entry for more on getting there etc.
