Badger's Blandford Fly
Named in honour of the infamous biting insect of Dorset's River Stour, Blandford Fly has just scooped the Speciality Beer category of the 2010 Quality Drink Awards. Legend has it that ginger is a remedy to the fly's ferocious bite, hence its inspired inclusion in this beer.
Pale gold in colour, refreshing gingernuts on the nose leading to a spicy ginger-tinged palate balanced by rounded sweetness. Great on its own, but its gentle complexity makes Thai food a great option. Brings the mouth alive…
RRP: £1.75/50cl; Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose, www.badgerdirect.com
