Tour details

Tours at Harviestoun are popular and should always be arranged in advance. The standard tour includes a walk around the brewery, an overview of the production process tuned into the level of the audience, plus a chance to see, smell and feel the ingredients and an entertaining history of brewing.

After that visitors move to the nearby new warehouse where one of the brewery's iconic beers, Ola Dubh, snug in its Highland Park barrels, rests and matures.

A general tasting or a tutored tasting follows depending on arrangements.

Tours last approximately 60-90mins.

Six miles east of historic Stirling, the village of Alva, nestling at the foot of the beautiful Ochill Hills (a walking mecca), plays host to one of the world’s most renowned breweries – Harviestoun.

From humble beginnings in founder Ken Brooker’s kitchen, through corporate ownership and back to independence, Harviestoun remains among the true elite in the craft brewing world.

The creations of head brewer Stuart Cail and his four-strong “Brew Crew” are serious taste sensations, but the inspiration behind them is born from the joy of experimental brewing rather than any boring recipe book.

The core range of beers is diverse and critically acclaimed, whilst the limited edition releases are superlative and sought after. The seasonal guest casks are playful, beautifully thought out and humourously endorsed by Harvie mouse, the resident brewery mascot.

Harviestoun has built a great relationship with its customers face to face and through social media. It welcomes visitors to its brewery shop and onto its (appointment only) tours – you won’t be disappointed.
